This workshop will look at shared services from a strategic point of view. Rather than focusing on cost savings, the content will highlight how an institution can utilise shared services to accomplish teaching and learning goals, incremental revenue generation, and flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions.
Topics to be covered and expected outcomes The session will cover the meaning of strategic shared services, the different models, and some current examples. Expected outcomes will not only be a working knowledge of strategic shared services, but also networking with other institutions and organisations.
